Promoting produce

YAKIMA — While local organizations are showcasing Lower Yakima Valley produce, there are many activities taking place at the Central Washington State Fair throughout the remainder of the week. On tap today are: 10 a.m. — Open horse classes in the Durand Arena., followed by Texas Long Horns and Charolais Beef judging. 12:30 p.m. — Cooking with Honey in the Ag Building. 1 p.m. — Entertainment stages change hourly from 1-9 p.m. around the park. 2:30 p.m. — Jest in Time Circus on the Pacific Power Stage. 5:15 p.m. — Funnel cake eating contest at the Gazebo. 6:15 p.m. — High Hope Vaulters in the Durand Arena. 7 p.m. — John Kay and Steppenwolf on the Corona Extra Stage. The Fair continues through Oct. 1.
