YAKIMA The Grandview boys wrestling team joined eight other teams Tuesday at the annual Ike Takedown Tournament.
Five Greyhounds medaled and another claimed a medal in the B bracket.
Juan Fernandez, at 145 pounds, was the only titlist among the Greyhounds with a 3-0 record on the day.
Jaiden Leon was second int he 106-pound weight class and Abisai Mendoza was 0-3.
In the 113-pound weight class, Granger’s Jeremiah Falcedo was the titlist.
Grandview’s Adrian Benitez was third and Prosser’s Jacob Torres claimed second-place in the 120-pound classification.
Prosser’s Cameron Merrick was third in the 132-pound classification, while Grandview’s Justin Tobin was unable to win a match.
Ian Campuzano of the Greyhounds was third at 138 pounds; Angel Morales claimed second in the B bracket for the same weight class.
Jorge Hernadez of the Greyhounds was fourth in the 220-pound weight class.
At 152 pounds, Jorge Uribe of the Mustangs was third; and teammate Andrew Showman was second in the 182-pound classification.
Granger’s Robert Berger claimed third in the 170-pound classification; and teammate Jose Mendoza was third at 285 pounds.
Winning just one match apiece were Greyhounds Isaac Dean (145 pounds), Jesus Sanchez (160 pounds), Greg Vivar (170 pounds), Isic Miranda (182 pounds, Emilio Gonzalez (195 pounds and Marin Garcia (285 pounds).
