BURBANK Last Thursday, the Grandview girls wrestling team competed in the Columbia Burbank Invite, and one grappler earned championship honors in her weight class.
Maria Reyes, 110 pounds, pinned a Granger opponent in the finals.
Freshman Adri Graf was runner-up at 115 pounds after defeating three opponents to make it into the finals. Devin Gamez of Kiona-Benton defeated her with an 11-0 major decision in the championship match.
In the 135-pound bracket, Jasel Perez defeated two opponents before competing in the finals against a girl from River View and suffering a loss for runner-up honors.
Jennifer Ramos, 130 pounds, was 3-1 in the tournament. The loss in the semi-finals dropped her into the consolations and she won her final match for third place.
“The team was in fourth place for most of the day,” Greyhounds girls coach Bob Johnson said.
The team travels Saturday to Sedro-Woolley for the Woolley Women’s Tournament.
