From Tin Pan Alley to Motown, “Grand Standard Time” is more than a “Sentimental Journey.” It is a fresh look at great songs in American musical history and turns the page to the next era of Standards.
This veteran performing duo with piano will appear at the Sunnyside High School auditorium on Sunday, March 9, at 3 p.m.
Grand Standard Time was conceived by Matt Davenport Productions as a vehicle to channel the razzle-dazzle of a production show within the intimacy of a vocal duo.
Despite their youth, performers Amy Johnson and Adam Smith have a long history belting and crooning the American Standards. As musical theatre performers living in the pop-music driven climate of Nashville, Johnson and Smith bring a broad sensitivity to the nuances of a show tune as well as the raw physicality of a contemporary pop classic.
Tickets for this performance are $30 (single) and $5 (students). For more information call (509) 839-5222 or visit the Lower Valley Community Concerts Association online at www.lowervalleyconcerts.org.
