YAKIMA – Neither team put up impressive numbers yesterday afternoon, but West Valley’s efforts at Nob Hill Lanes were sufficient enough to deal the Sunnyside High School girls bowling team a 4-0 loss.
For the Lady Grizzlies, Tuesday’s match in Yakima wrapped up their first run through Columbia Basin Big Nine League foes. Sitting on a 1-5 conference record, Sunnyside begins taking on Big Nine opponents for a second time next Tuesday at Moses Lake.
In yesterday’s match against the Rams, Sunnyside received a solid performance from senior Alyson Spidle. She tossed a team-high 310 series on efforts of 164-146.
The Lady Grizzlies also got a 289 series from sophomore Megan Kinney (168-121).
West Valley was led by Amanda Selberg, who rolled games of 130-182 for a club-best 312 two-game series. Also hitting the 300-plus series plateau was West Valley teammate Kitty McKinney (167-137).
The Rams took control of Tuesday’s match with a pair of 704-655 and 651-617 victories. West Valley completed the sweep by winning both Baker games – 157-119 and 141-76.
