GRANDVIEW – The city of Grandview received two recommendations from the state auditor for additions to its policies that were Tuesday approved by city council.
Each year city staff is treated to a recognition luncheon, despite not having a policy in place that allows such gatherings. The meal honors those working for the city, as well as its volunteers. Awards for those being recognized for exemplary service are also presented during the event.
The auditor, said City Clerk Anita Palacios, recommended a policy for the event.
Another recommendation was the addition of a credit card policy.
There are 10 individuals who are authorized to use city credit cards, including department directors.
“Most of the credit cards have a $1,000 limit,” said Palacios.
There are a few exceptions, such as a card with a $10,000 limit that is kept in a vault at city hall.
Included in the new policy is a user agreement, detailing the proper use of city credit cards.
The Grandview City Council approved both policies by a 5-0 vote.
