Victoria Garza, 86, of Sunnyside went to be with her loving Savior on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Victoria was born Jan. 12, 1927 in Brownsville, Texas to Modesto and Guadalupe (Godoy) Marichalar.
On Sept. 4, 1953 Victoria married the love of her life, Jose Garza in Sunnyside.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved taking her children to the park, tending to her beautiful rose garden, drinking coffee with her friends on the weekend, dancing with her husband and caring for her pets.
Victoria was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Garza of Sunnyside; her children, Marina (Tim) Trammel, Elva (Michael) Grant, Maria Sharpe, Felix (Norma) Garza and Albert (Kirstin) Garza; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Modesto and Lupe Marichalar; son, Joe Garza; four sisters; and five brothers.
Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
