I was recently approached by several members of the community to become a write-in candidate for the District 2 board representative for the Sunnyside School District. I was honored to be thought of and after careful consideration I have accepted this opportunity.
I have worked and lived in Sunnyside since 2003 and during this time I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Rick Cole and his staff on numerous issues facing our community. I am encouraged by the changes I see taking place in the schools that my children attend, and if elected I will continue to support these changes and others. I look forward to the opportunity to serve this community again.
In serving as the public works director, city engineer and interim city manager for the city of Sunnyside, it was my job to build and improve the infrastructure of the city of Sunnyside to attract new investments into the community. One of the most important questions that was asked by those developers was the quality of the schools. As a member of the Sunnyside School Board it will be my primary focus to build and improve the school district to help it prepare to meet the future challenges of our society and to be able to always answer that questions that the schools in Sunnyside are the best.
Thank you for your support and vote on Nov. 5.
