PROSSER - The Princess Theatre in Prosser will be presenting Mel Brooks’ comedy, “Young Frankenstein,” on its big screen on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. as part of its monthly Must See Movie series.
Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder wrote the screenplay, a parody of the classical horror film genre. Wilder, as Dr. Frankenstein’s grandson, has spent years living down the family reputation. Then, he inherits his grandfather’s castle and repeats the experiments.
Released in 1974, the movie also stars Madeline Kahn, Teri Garr, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Kenneth Mars, Richard Haydn and Gene Hackman.
The Princess Theatre will host a social hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in its Green Room, adjacent to the theater. The social will include a costume contest, trivia and prizes. Local microbrews and wines will be available for purchase by the glass. The social hour is free to the public; movie admission is $5 per person. Tickets will be available at the door.
Also in October, the Princess Theatre will present its fifth annual “Rocky Horror Picture Show Event” on Saturday, Oct. 26. Movie times will be 8 p.m. and midnight.
