Personnel changes OK’d by Sunnyside School Board

Contracts in the Sunnyside School District approved by the board on Tuesday, Nov. 26, include Washington Elementary School after-school teachers Cynthia Maldonado, Carla Sarr, Georgianne Blosser-Skyles, Daniel Rangel, David Barker and Tanya Weron; Washington Elementary School after-school para-educators Consuelo Canales, Marlena Shupe, Luisa Calderon, Margarita Cornwell, Mary Fernandez and Gracie Siller-Maltos; Washington Elementary School after-school program supervisor Joseph Castilleja; Harrison Middle School after-school teachers Elizabeth Parker, Julie Spini, Tamara Sartin and Brittany McDonald; school nurse Vanessa Alcaraz; Pioneer Elementary School psychologist Catherine Jansen; zero hour jazz band teacher David Chavey-Reynaud; Sunnyside High School freshman class advisor Emma Saucedo; Sierra Vista Middle School science club advisor Alicia Biddle; Sunnyside High School LAC para-educator mentor Maribel Rodriguez; Sierra Vista Middle School GEAR-UP personnel Tyler Alseth, Ryan Biddle, Stephanie Welniak, James Slinker and Celia Jimenez; Outlook Elementary extended learning program personnel Christy Clevenger, Yesenia Campuzano, Cris Guevara, Dawn Moore and Heather Pickel; Sun Valley Elementary temp cook Marivel Saldana; Washington Elementary LAC para-educator Emma Argo; Pioneer Elementary para-educator Edie Rocha; and Sunnyside High School assistant girls wrestling coach Amanda Rodriguez.

Transfers approved included Heather Alvarez, first grade teacher at Washington Elementary School; Michelle Heitzman, art specialist at Sun Valley Elementary; Mariana Navarro, secretary at Outlook Elementary; and Shanice Longoria, para-educator at Outlook Elementary.

Rita Uribe resigned as the HSGI Academic Specialist at Harrison Middle School and Martha Patina retired as a para-educator at Sun Valley Elementary.

The following individuals are taking a leave of absence: Julia Granados, a para-educator at Washington and Outlook elementary schools, and Corinne Minton, a teacher at Outlook Elementary School.
