Community members will have an opportunity to indulge in pancakes at dinner time next Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Boy Scout Troop #632 will be hosting a Fat Tuesday pancake feed at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Sunnyside, located at Grandview and Taylor avenues.
Fat Tuesday marks the beginning of Lent, according to Scout Leader Dan Myers. He said the church has a long-standing tradition of hosting events on Fat Tuesday.
The Boy Scout troop has been sponsored by the church since the troop was chartered more than 40 years ago.
As a result, the youngsters wanted to give back to the church.
Tuesday's pancake feed will be free to the public, but a free-will offering will be accepted. Proceeds will help the scouts meet project goals, and a portion of the funds will be donated to the church.
Myers said the 6 p.m. pancake feed is another way for the Boy Scouts to bring the community together.
