Yakima County Sheriff deputies are investigating a report of a burglary made yesterday afternoon (Monday) from the 1300 block of Hill Avenue near Sunnyside. The front door was kicked in and jewelry and electronics were reported as missing from the residence.
Deputies also took a report yesterday of a possible case of identity theft. A person living near Prosser reported receiving a phone call about a past due account at a store that the person had never done business with.
Deputies have also investigated two theft reports since last Wednesday. A mail theft was reported from the 600 block of Arrowsmith Road near Sunnyside on Wednesday. Last Saturday afternoon a GPS, ammo, clothing, a tool chest and fuel cans were reported stolen from near the intersection of Holaday and Snipes Pump roads near Sunnyside.
Deputies also spoke to people shooting at targets in the 1800 block of Alexander Extension near Sunnyside last Thursday. The target was poorly placed and rounds were “bouncing off” a nearby residence.
Last Friday morning deputies responded to a vehicle fire in the 8300 block of Van Belle Road near Sunnyside. The vehicle had been reported stolen.
Since last Wednesday morning deputies have also handled three animal problem reports, three automatic alarms, four reports of suspicious circumstances, two civil matters, a report of fraud, a report of harassment, a report of a runaway juvenile, a report of shots fired, a report of assault, a noise complaint, a report of a juvenile problem, seven reports of traffic incidents and a report of illegal dumping.
In that time deputies also recovered another stolen vehicle, conducted two welfare checks and provided assistance to another agency.
