Wayne R. Pauley Jr., 77, of Grandview went to be in the arms of his loving Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born June 16, 1936 in Marysville, Kansas, the son of Wayne R. Pauley Sr. and Nellie C. Scoville.
He graduated from Marysville High School in 1954.
Introduced by friends in 1955 he met the love of his life, Donna Ehmen. They were married on Feb. 3, 1957 in Beatrice, Neb.
Wayne began working for Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor in 1956 and retired in 1996.
He loved the beach, old cars and small air planes.
He belonged to the Union Pacific Railroad Jr’s Club and later joined the Old Timers Club.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna Pauley of Grandview; four children, Laurie Higdon of Grandview, Dave (Kathy) Pauley of Fall City, Kent (Beth) Pauley of West Chester, Pa. and Brian (Randy) Pauley of Florida; six grandchildren, Amy, Nikki, Gregg, Jenna, Gwyn and Leah; four great-grandchildren, Adyson, Audrey, Nehemiah and Autumn; and one brother, Roland Pauley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Nellie Pauley; and two sisters, Nora Lee Pauley and Patricia Young.
Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
