Josefina Segovia, 88, of Grandview went to be in the arms of her heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Josefina was born Oct. 24, 1924 in Mercedes, Texas, the daughter of Ines and Juana (Guajardo) Cantu Sr. She loved being a homemaker, cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Josefina was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview. She is survived by 10 children; Alicia Garcia and Ricardo (San Juana) Segovia, both of Grandview, Elida (Florentino) Valenzuela of Weslaco, Texas, Carolina (Fidel) Ybarra of Dallas, Texas, Lydia (Francisco) Caballero and Elma Segovia, both of San Antonio, Texas Yolanda (Roberto) Garcia of Prosser, Ramiro Segovia of Sedro Woolley, Dalia Candanoza of Yakima and Olga Segovia of Austin, Texas; numerous grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio Segovia; one son, Oscar Garcia; and her siblings, Ines Cantu Jr., Francisca Garcia, Severa Cantu, Aurora Segovia and Santos Cavazos. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Mass of Christian Burial will held Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
