Elsie Mae Packer Price, 91, of Grandview passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Prosser Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1918 in Naponee, Neb. to Myles and Edna (Cady) Pardoe.
She received her education in Naponee.
She was later employed as a telephone operator.
On Jan. 1, 1938 she married Harold E. Packer in Republican City, Neb. Together they lived at Dickens, Neb. for two years before coming to Oregon then to Seattle in 1941.
Following Harold's military service, the Packer family moved to Grandview in 1946, where they farmed west of Grandview for 27 years.
Harold passed away in March 1981 and Elsie continued to make her home in Grandview.
Elsie enjoyed gardening, playing dominos and playing cards at Grandview and Prosser senior centers.
She attended the Grandview Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Roger Packer of Arizona; two daughters, Marion K. Arnold of Mountlake Terrace and Karen (Audie) Harvill of Prosser; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Packer; second husband, William Price; one brother; and one son, Vance Packer.
Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Elsie's memory may contribute to their favorite charity.
