Food, wine and fellowship will come together during the third annual fund-raising auction presented by the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview.
Saturday, Oct. 15, Lower Valley residents will have a chance to mingle as they sample hors d'oeuvres and wine, and take part in a silent auction. Later in the evening, those who attend the event will have a chance to bid on various vacation packages and other items during the live auction. The event will be capped off with a presentation by New York Times best-selling author Matthew Kelly.
Kelly, the author of "The Rhythm of Life: Living Every Day with Passion," began his Catholic ministry in 1993, when he was just 19-years-old. Over the past 12 years Kelly, an Australian native, has reached out to more than 2 million people who have attended his talks, seminars and retreats. He has also had a chance to pen nine books, which are in circulation around the globe.
Other books written by Kelly include "Rediscovering Catholicism," "A Call to Joy," and "Mustard Seeds."
Kelly will share his message with those in attendance at the fund-raiser. His message includes taking the complexity of every day life and incorporating the unchanging truths of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The fund-raising auction is set to begin at 6 p.m. with the live auction at 7 p.m. and Kelly's presentation at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $20 per person or $150 for a table of eight. Those planning on attending the event must be over 21. For more information or to purchase tickets contact Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 882-1657 or Mid-Valley Dodge at 882-5005.
