GRANDVIEW - Tuesday morning, Yakima County commissioners approved an amendment to a SIED agreement with the Port of Grandview for the Grape and Wine Education Center.
Community Services Director Steve Hill explained that the SIED agreement, although it's through the Port of Grandview, is going to Yakima Valley Community College (YVCC) for work on its Grape and Wine Education Center. The center will be located at the corner of Grandridge and Wine Country roads in Grandview.
Hill said the agreement was amended because it was originally drafted to span several years, but it was later discovered that YVCC can't enter into agreements for periods longer than its fiscal budget. Hill said the agreement, which includes a grant loan, was amended to allow the college to pay back the SIED money early.
